Indoor air quality matters for health and comfort year-round, but especially during flu season. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Americans spend an average of 90% of their time indoors, where some pollutants are two to five times higher than typical outdoor concentrations. When we think of flu prevention, we focus on vaccines, good hygiene, and avoiding crowded places. While these are great defenses against the flu virus, maintaining clean indoor air can significantly complement your flu prevention efforts. Here’s why: Virus Transmission: The influenza virus can be transmitted through tiny respiratory droplets suspended in the air. Poor indoor air quality can increase the concentration of these droplets, making it easier for the virus to spread indoors. Weakened Immune System: Breathing in pollutants and allergens can weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to infections like the flu. Symptom Severity: Exposure to indoor air contaminants can exacerbate flu symptoms, making you feel even worse if you get sick.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions and their answers to help you find the best solution for your home or office.

Yes, iAdpatAir purifiers use ionization, UV and silver that is lab tested to reduce viruses and bacteria by up to 99%. It is of course important to continue cleaning surfaces as one normally would; however, ionization supports the mitigation of these contaminants.

Viruses, bacteria, and other single-cell organisms, such as fungi (mold), can be addressed by the ions emitted from air purifiers employing ionization technology. Our iAdaptAir purifier is a great choice because it combines filtration to address airborne contaminants and ionization to deal with those inhabiting surfaces of your indoor spaces.

The best answer is to avoid ‘undersizing’ a room with too small of a purifier. The small size iAdaptAir is designed for smaller rooms like secondary bedrooms or home offices. Medium covers a large room like a living room or master bedroom with an open bath. The large size purifier is designed for more open spaces, such as open floor plan homes. The Pro is great for larger open spaces or areas with large groups of people, such as classrooms. You can always run a larger purifier on a slower (and quieter) fan speed in a smaller room.

We recommend running your air purifier the most in the rooms where you spend the most time. If you work from home, you may want to have it running continuously throughout the day while working. Some set a timer or turn on the purifier an hour before bedtime and let it run through the night to support better sleep. The scheduler function and app support various run cycles.
